Stream Clean Up Opportunities

Missouri Stream Team

The Stream Team program is a network of citizens who are involved in education, stewardship, and advocacy on behalf of Missouri streams, participating in activities such as water quality monitoring, stream clean-ups, tree planting, and more. Membership is free to any interested citizen, family or organization. The program is sponsored by the Missouri Department of Conservation and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. For clean-up events, the MDC provides free trash bags and work gloves. For more information contact the Stream Team at (800) 781-1989, or visit

MSD partners with community groups in these clean-ups by providing supplies and trash dumpsters for the disposal of trash removed from the streams. Contact us at (314) 436-8708 for more information.

Clean Ups

Trash bash clean ups give citizens the opportunity to volunteer to help make the St. Louis community a better place by cleaning up our neighborhoods, rivers, and streams. Volunteering is also a great way for scouts to earn badges and students to earn community service hours. Please dress appropriately for working outside and current weather conditions. Be prepared to get wet and muddy.
